Our History
On January 13, 1973 brothers from Western Illinois University, Murray State, The University of Illinois, The University of Wisconsin, The University Arkansas, Ohio State, Southern Illinois University, and Northwest Missouri State joined together to celebrate as the charter for the Beta Delta Chapter of the Alpha Gamma Rho Fraternity was signed.
Over the next several years the fraternity grew and expanded. Being too large for just one house, 405 N. School Street was purchased and the fraternity expanded to fill it. Then in 1986 the decision was made to build a new house. Instead of filling just one lot, this new house would require both of the lots currently owned by Alpha Gamma Rho. This new Alpha Gamma Rho house would be a large house capable of comfortably housing over 40 men.
The Brothers moved into this new house in 1987 and the fraternity grew. An average of around 40 men, at a given time, have been active members of the house over the years. Since 1973, over 600 men have passed through the halls of Alpha Gamma Rho.
